Let’s talk about walking.

Hi this is JUSTIN; On today’s issue: Walking is the big deal…not running just walking. Now most of us aren’t able to get to the gym, and well as much as I beat myself up for it. I realize on any given day you should walk about an accumulated 30-45 minutes. Better if it is continuous. But that means climb a flight of stairs instead of an elevator. IN the long run it all adds up. For those of you who have a diabetes risk factor, studies have shown that it significantly lowers the risk for getting it. It’s not a gauruntee but seriously “IF YOU KNEW ABOUT THIS” wouldn’t you try to do this. Unfortunately it’s getting over that hump or state of mind.

SO here you go. Some tips.

1) If appropriate where comfortable walking shoes to work.

2) Use the stairs…this is what I tend to do, if I see everyone going up 3 floors in the elevator, I tell them I’ll try ot beat them. Ok so I am young, but you get the point.

3)If you aren’t allowed to get up. Try to park a little further before work and after work You have a long walk back too.

4) Grab your kids or spouse after dinner and instead of plopping down to watch TV, spend some real quality time walking around your neighborhood…that is if it is safe
